H₂ Charging station chillers

HI AIR KOREA provides various types of customized Hydrogen charging station chillers of high efficiency for hydrogen charging stations which are developed to meet the versatile requirements of clients and conditions by using the technology and know-how acquired through the experience in marine, offshore and industrial chiller production.

HI AIR KOREA chillers adopted PLC control system fro stable system control. The main Chiller includes inverter controlled compressors for cost effective operation by saving the power consumption and to ensure stable & reliable operation by preventing short cycling at fluctuating cooling load.

Hydrogen charging station chillers have various types as below;

Main Chillers for H₂ Charging Machine
- 36 kW Air Cooled Main Chiller
- 36 kW Water Cooled Main Chiller

Sub Chillers for H₂ Compressor
- 85 / 140 / 170 / 200 kW Air Cooled Sub Chillers

    Main Chillers for H₂ Charging Machine

    AIR COOLED TYPE

    WATER COOLED TYPE

    General

    • Main Chiller supplies brine of -17.5℃ ~ -40.0℃ to cool the H₂ charging machine that produce 875 bar of compressed hydrogen as per SAE J2601 T40.

    Construction

    • Cost effective operation by saving the power consumption and prolonged lifetime by using inverter compressor (30~70Hz)
    • Fast response time control by electronic expansion valve and inverter compressor to cope with the sudden changes of cooling load
    • Efficient and stable control by SIEMENS CLIMATIX SERIES PLC which is optimized for air conditioning and refrigeration system.
    • Brine buffer tank of 180 Liter @ -40.0℃ ensures stable operation at peak cooling load.
    • Two independent refrigerant circuits for redundant operation
    • Dual reducing valves and pressure safety valves for Brine buffer tank prevent nitrogen overcharge and hydrogen ingress which can damage the charging machine.
    • Air cooled type main chiller can operate independently, which offers simple installation by eliminating other utilities.
    • Water cooled type main chiller provides stable operation even at highest summer temperature with lower noise level.
    • Proven performance and reliability by test and verification at various ambient conditions (-15 ℃ ~43℃).
    • Max noise level of 85 dB(A) at 1 m away from chiller

    Sub Chillers for H₂ Compressor

    AIR COOLED TYPE

    General

    • Sub Chiller supplies chilled water of 20.0℃ to prevent H₂ compressor damage and ensure the best efficiency by cooling the H₂ compressor.

    Construction

    • Two independent refrigerant circuits for redundant operation (140/170/200 kW only)
    • Fast response time control by electronic expansion valve to cope with the sudden changes of cooling load from multiple H₂ compressors and water cooled type main chillers.
    • Efficient and stable control by SIEMENS CLIMATIX SERIES PLC which is optimized for air conditioning and refrigeration system.
    • Brine buffer tank @ 20.0℃ ensures stable operation at peak cooling load.
    • Environment friendly & low pressure type R-134a refrigerant can stably operate at highest summer (200 kW only).
    • Additional power saving if CMA (Cooling Module Assembly) is provided.
    • Max noise level of 85 dB(A) at 1 m away from chiller
    • Proven performance and reliability by test and verification at various ambient conditions (-15 ℃ ~ 43℃).

    MAIN CHILLER

    • Strainer for brine piping – Protection of equipment and components
    • Strainer for cooling water piping – Protection of equipment and components (for water cooled type)
    • Additional safety valve (25A) for hydrogen discharge – Protection for hydrogen ingress due to PCHE leakage
    • Nitrogen bottles on equipment skid – Provide nitrogen supply.
